Goldeneye Ducks are fast fliers and get the nickname "whistler" because of the sound their wings make in flight.

Diet

they eat aquatic invertebrates and fish.

Size

The general size of a Goldeneye Duck is around 15-20 inches long and have a wingspan of about 30 inches!.

How to tell a male from a female:

Males have a roundish white spot before their yellow eye, black head and back contrast with white crest and sides.  Female has chocolate brown head contrasting with gray body, often with a yellow tip on their black bill.
