NMRMA does not typically accept animal donations from the public, exceptions will be made if they meet the requirements as defined in the Live Animal Acquisition Policy.
Excerpts from the NMRMA Live Animal Acquisition Policy:
- Animals are to be acquired only if the specimen and species are consistent with NMRMA’s mission, as reflected in the Institutional Collection Plan (ICP).
- Animals will be acquired only if professionally accepted levels of humane care and management can be provided or developed so that the physical and behavioral needs of the specimen and species are met.
- Animals will be acquired only if they are obtained and maintained in a manner consistent with all relevant laws and regulations.
