River Museum to host Valentine’s Day dinner among the aquariums

The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium will host a five-course Valentine’s Day Candlelight Dinner on Friday, Feb. 14, 2020, from 6-9 p.m. among the exhibits and aquariums in its Mississippi River Discovery Center.

Seating is limited and reservations are required for this five-course dinner. Registration is available through Feb. 7 at rivermuseum.com/events. The cost is $55 per person and payment is due at time of reservation. Couples and groups are welcome.

Staff-supervised programming is provided for children ages 1 and above across campus at the National River Center. The children’s program is $5 per child for members of the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium and $10 per child for non-members. 

The menu for the Valentine’s Day Candlelight Dinner is listed below. Gluten free and vegetarian options are available for most items. Each guest will receive a complimentary glass of champagne and coffee. A cash bar is available.

Please note doors open at 6:00 p.m. with dinner starting at 6:30 p.m. If you have children for the childcare program, please arrive no sooner than 6:00 p.m. for drop off. Childcare drop off is in the National River Center building with dinner in the Mississippi River Center (paddlewheel) building.

  • Starter: Shrimp and Avocado on Cucumber Caprese with Fresh Basil and Crostini
  • Salad: Pear and Mixed Green Salad with Toasted Pecans and Maple Vinaigrette
  • Soup: Smokey Bacon and Sweet Corn Chowder
  • Entrée Options: Cabernet Braised Beef Short Rib placed on top of Sour Cream Smashed Red Potatoes or Vegetarian Cabernet Roasted Vegetable and Lentil Stew placed on top of Sour Cream Smashed Red Potatoes
  • Dessert: Petite shared plate
