Ice Fest is Presented by Dupaco Community Credit Union. KCRG TV-9 is the official television sponsor for the event. Other sponsors include: Casey’s General Stores, Inc., McCoy Group Inc., Skyline Sweeping, Sundown Mountain Resort, UnityPoint Health Finley Hospital, and Radio Dubuque's 92.9 KAT-FM.

Monday, January 21
All Day: Snow Sculpting Viewing (Boatyard)
10:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.: Assorted Crafts and Games (Second floor of MRC)
11 a.m. – 3 p.m.: Winter Ice Fest Games (Boatyard) - Snow Snake, Snow Painting Wall, Sample Snow Shoeing, Fire Pit Warming Station, Variety of Other Icy Outdoor Activities
11:00 a.m.: Try it: Ice Fishing! (Pre-registration required, will accept sign up at the door.  Max of 25 including children and parents.  First, come first serve.) (Lower Dock)
11:30 a.m.: Ice harvesting demonstration (Lower Dock)

The River Museum's coolest event, Ice Fest, returns Jan. 19-21, 2019, with three days of exciting activities throughout its campus.

Presented by Dupaco Community Credit Union, this year’s Ice Fest features a blend of new and exciting activities and time-honored traditions that have made the event a fixture in the area for 15 years.

Snow sculpting, a snow tunnel slide, ice harvesting demonstrations, interactive crafts and games, and family-friendly activities will be available throughout Ice Fest, with additional featured activities each day.

The Alaskan Malamutes from Plumery Tails Malamute Ranch will be on campus Saturday, Jan. 19, to meet and greet guests, and the Dubuque Fire Department will demonstrate water rescue techniques. Saturday activities also include: Limited tours of the William M. Black dredge boat, maple taffy making, a bird seed ornament craft, blacksmith demonstrations, boat shop demonstrations, freeze bubbles, and campfire story times. Local wineries will be providing wine tastings.

Iowa Public Television's Dan Wardell will return to Ice Fest for story times on Sunday, Jan. 20, with special guest Daniel Tiger from Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. KCRG-TV9 First Alert Weather Chief Meteorologist Joe Winters is scheduled to host a kids Weather Academy, and the Dubuque Fire Department will return to demonstrate water rescue techniques. Sunday activities also include: Limited tours of the William M. Black dredge boat, maple taffy making, a bird seed ornament craft, blacksmith demonstrations, boat shop demonstrations, freeze bubbles, and campfire story times. Local wineries will be providing wine tastings.

On Monday, Jan. 21, ice fishing clinics will be available in the Ice Harbor. Ice fishing participants must be under the age of 16. Ice fishing will be limited and sign-ups will occur on site on a first come, first serve basis.

Ice Fest, and all of its activities are included with general admission to the River Museum and free for members and those under three. Members of Dupaco Community Credit Union will receive a 35% discount on general admission at the box office on Sunday. Tickets are good for two days with proof of purchase.

The River Museum’s newest seasonal exhibit, “What’s Bugging Belva?” will be open to guests during Ice Fest. Its newest film “Wildest Weather in the Solar System 3D,” will stream in the 4D Theater. Film tickets are an additional charge.
