Celebrate an old-fashioned holiday at the Mathias Ham Historic Site. On select weekends in December, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Ham House will be decorated in period style, and costumed interpreters will share holiday traditions of the Victorian era. Winter furs and footwear from the Dubuque County Historical Society’s collection will be on display throughout the month. Admission is just $7.50 for adults and $4 for children 3-17. Members of the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium receive free admission.

Home for the Holidays will feature special guests and activities each weekend. Crafts will be available while supplies last each day.

Dec. 1:
The Americana Band will play from noon to 3:30 p.m.
Daily craft – Cranberry garland ornaments

Dec. 2: Carriage rides will be offered from noon to 3:30 p.m.

Dec. 8: The Dubuque Chorale will perform from noon to 1:30 p.m.
Daily craft – Sugar plums

Dec. 9: The Dubuque Chorale will perform from noon to 1:30 p.m.
The Music Men will perform from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
Daily craft – Gingerbread

Dec. 15: Robert Armstrong will read A Child’s Christmas in Wales at noon and 2 p.m.
Daily craft – Pomander balls and pinecone animals

Dec. 16: Santa will join the festivities from noon to 3:30 p.m.
Carriage rides will be offered from noon to 3:30 p.m.

Dec. 29 and 30: Twelve Days of Christmas scavenger hunt
Crepe paper game from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Sculpture from 1:30-4 p.m.
Daily craft – New Year’s crackers
