National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium

This event showcases artisan craftsmanship and highlights an era of history before machines could mass produce what we needed. Visitors will have an opportunity to participate in maker activities throughout the day and test their own making abilities.

All demonstrations, activities and crafts are included in general admission. Members and children under 3 are free.

List of select demonstrations:

  • taking raw wool through to completion of a clothing item.
  • lead casting for toy soldiers or bullets
  • blacksmithing
  • wood turning
  • net making
  • stained glass
  • crocheting
  • rug hooking
  • fly tying

Children's activities:

  • metal rubbings
  • button making
  • paper rockets
  • sun printing
  • finger weaving
  • sidewalk chalk projects
