Da Vinci Days - Fly

Date & Time

July 14, 2018 @ 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

350 E. 3rd St., Dubuque, Iowa 52001

Leonardo da Vinci was a man of many talents, which is why the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium is hosting DaVinci Days, a seven part series taking place this summer, focusing on his many areas of study. Part four of seven, “Flight”, sponsored by the Dubuque Regional Airport and University of Dubuque, will be held Saturday, July 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and highlight da Vinci’s dream of flight.

FlightDay will feature regularly scheduled daily activities, as well as additional activities for all ages, including:

  • Pilot a flight simulator.
  • Talk aviation with members of the Civil Air Patrol.
  • Unmanned aerial vehicle demonstrations.
  • Catch footage of the Oshkosh Air Show and a flight lesson with the Experimental Aircraft Association.
  • Compete in the balsa wood airplane contest.
  • Learn about the Museum & Aquarium’s flying friends through an educator talk.

Following “Flight” Day activities, visitors can visit DaVinci The Exhibition to explore DaVinci’s study of flight and his designs for parachutes, a flying machine, an anemometer, an aerial screw, and more!

All DaVinci Day activities are included with admission to both the Museum & Aquarium and DaVinci The Exhibition. Tickets available at the box office or online at

American Trust & Savings Bank is the premier sponsor for DaVinci The Exhibition. Lead exhibit sponsors include KWWL, Radio Dubuque, and Diamond Jo Casino. TH Media is a partner exhibit sponsor, and Prudential is an associate sponsor.
