Summer Camps 

Summer camps at the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium provide children entering Kindergarten – 5th grade with engaging, interactive, and affordable programs during the summer months. 

General Camp Information

Members must register and create a log in password to receive the member discount. This can be done after selecting a camp by clicking on the links in the upper right-hand corner of the page. Participants must bring a sack lunch for full day camps. Camps are divided by grade level.

Wrap-around Care
 

Due to limited summer camp sizes, we are requiring a $5 per day, per child wrap-around care fee. Morning wrap-around care is provided beginning at 7:45 a.m. Afternoon wrap-around care ends at 4:45 p.m.

Full refunds or transfers will be granted up to two weeks prior to each camp.

Covid-19 Guidelines 

The safety and health for campers is always our top priority. During this time of uncertainty, we want to essure famlies that we are taking extra precautions to provide the best Summer Camp experience possible, while following guidelines by the Center of Disease Control (CDC) regulations. The following guidelines will be in place throughout all camps this summer:

  • Camp sizes are limited to 12 campers per age-specific camp and each camp will be held in a separate space. 
  • Staff and youth will have their temperatures checked upon their arrival and asked to leave if they have a temperature over 100.4 or if they are feeling ill.
  • Staff will wear a mask at all times around the youth and when in the general public.
  • We will be sanitizing tables, craft supplies, and any other utencils utilized, before and after we use them.
  • We will be washing hands and using hand sanitizers througout the day.
  • Other guidelines will be supplied prior to the start of camp.

DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES SURROUNDING COVID-19, IF WE ARE FORCED TO MAKE CHANGES OR CANCELLATIONS, WE WILL MAKE EVERY ATTEMPT TO PROVIDE PARTICIPANTS WITH A MINIMUM OF TWO WEEKS (14 DAYS) PRIOR TO THE FIRST DAY OF CAMP. AT THAT TIME, WE WILL OFFER AN OPTION TO TRANSFER TO ANOTHER CAMP OR RECEIVE A REFUND. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THERE MAY BE UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES THAT COULD CAUSE CANCELLATIONS AT ANY TIME. Elementary School Camps

Elementary school camps are for children entering Kindergarten - 5th grade and are week long camps. Wrap-around care options are available to all campers for $5 per camper, per day.

Mississippi River Survival (Entering grades 1-2 & 3-5)

July 13-17
Could you survive on your own along the banks of the Mississippi River as the early explorers did? From fishing to boat building to fire starting, early explorers did it all and so will our campers. Campers will discover the diverse animals encountered along the explorers’ journey and experience (and survive) natural disasters that may have befallen these brave individuals.

Dinosaur Detectives (Entering grades 1-2 & 3-5)

July 20 - 24
Dinosaurs are all around us. Campers will meet some present day dinosaur relatives, and uncover how fossils from the past help identify dinosaurs and other extinct creatures today. Together, we will create our own dinosaurs and dinosaur footprints based on what we learn about these amazing creatures of the past.

Kinder-Kamp: Animal Friends (Entering Kindergarten)

July 27 - 31  -   9 a.m. - 12 p.m. OR 1 p.m - 4 p.m.
Prepare to enjoy animals of all shapes and sizes through this year’s Kinder-Kamp! Campers will encounter live animals, explore nature, make crafts, and even operate larger-than-life robotic animals in our newest exhibit The Robot Zoo!
