Taste of Dubuque scheduled for Aug. 1

The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium’s tastiest event, Taste of Dubuque, returns to the Port of Dubuque on Thursday, Aug. 1 with American Country Music Artist Eric Chesser headlining the event. Taste of Dubuque will run from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. in the Port of Dubuque, outside the River Museum. Parking is available in the Port of Dubuque public parking ramp.

Attendees to Taste of Dubuque will enjoy live music and great food from local vendors. Low-cost, sample-size portions from many of the area’s favorite restaurants, caterers, and food trucks are available for sale. Larger portions will also be available for sale.

This year’s confirmed food vendors will include Sugar Rays BBQ, Tony Roma’s, The Food Store, Fat Tuesday’s, The Lunch Bus, Magoo’s Pizza, Elle & Becks, Rocking 5K BBQ, Asbury Plaza Hy-Vee, Adobos Mexican Grill, Koppes Kreations, and J&D Catering. More vendors will be announced over the coming weeks.

The evening kicks off at 5 p.m., and from 5:30-6 p.m. students from Vibe Dance Co. will perform. At 6 p.m., live music kicks off with Statue of Liberty, followed by Gone Country at 7 p.m. (featuring local artists Elizabeth Mary, Caitlyn Wolfe, Adam Arling, Matt McPherson, Noah Kachelski, Dayton Olson, Patty Poggemiller, Mark Oberfell, Joie Booth, Mark Whittaker, Brandon Stoney, and Lane Stoney). The evening’s headliner, Eric Chesser, will take the stage at 8:30 p.m.

Chesser is best known for his most recent release “Good Times & Summer Days”, which debuted on Billboard’s Country Indicator Chart and reached the Top 30 on Music Row’s Country Breakout Chart. Other hits include, “Tailgate”, “Yes”, and “I Can’t Read Your Mind.”

Admission to Taste of Dubuque is free; however, a suggested donation of $5 will support the River Museum’s continued conservation and education efforts.

To lessen the carbon footprint of the event, vendors will once again not be allowed to serve food in Styrofoam containers. Additionally, while a selection of beer and pop will be available for purchase, the public is welcome to bring reusable water bottles for filling at a water station on site or purchase a reusable water bottle at the event.
