Forever Forest, presented by J. Kubitz Logging, will open in the upper level of the Mississippi River Discovery Center at the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium on May 28, 2022.
The 2,000 square-foot exhibit helps children draw connections between their lives and forests. Forever Forest contains hands-on activities focused on forest life and sustainable harvesting; lumber transportation with a realistic kid-sized replica of a Union Pacific engine and mini grapple skidders that children can operate; a tree-top climber; and a mini home under construction in which children can help finish by adding siding, molding, and other details.
The exhibit is made possible with support from J. Kubitz Logging and the following sponsors: Contributing Sponsor – Telegraph Herald. Associate Sponsors – KWWL and Radio Dubuque. Supporting Sponsors – Tracy Export and Sitco, LLC. Participating Sponsors – Bill Miller and Sons Logging, Douglas Timber Solutions, and First Community Trust.
Forever Forest is included with general admission and free to members. The exhibit will remain open at the River Museum through Labor Day, September 5, 2022. For more information, visit riveruseum.com/ForeverForest.
