The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium is hosting Environmental Scientist Marcus Eriksen on March 12 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in its Mississippi River Discovery Center. This event is free to the public.
Eriksen will discuss marine conservation, specifically about the impact of plastics on the world’s oceans. A meet and greet will take place following the presentation. Refreshments, including a cash bar will be available during this evening. Dimensional Brewing Company is providing Conservation Cream Ale, a portion of those sales will be donated to the River Museum.
Eriksen will also be speaking at the John and Alice Butler Hall Heritage Center at the University of Dubuque on March 14 at 7 p.m. as part of the Wendt Character Initiative.
The University of Dubuque’s Wendt Center for Character Education has led the charge in bringing Eriksen to the area. He will be presenting on his more than a decade of research in the conservation field.
