The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium in partnership with Nutrien will host Youth Days on Friday, April 21 and Monday, April 24 in conjunction with the annual Party for the Planet event. The programming invites 500 Title 1 school children to the River Museum to enjoy self-guided tours during regular operating hours.

“Nutrien Ag Solutions is proud to partner with The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium for the 2023 Party For The Planet,” said Peter Allen, Division Manager for Northeast Iowa Crop Production Services. “We look forward to helping showcase how agriculture is working to help protect the environment we all live in and educate how we can all work together to feed a growing population.”

The opportunity, providing free admission to youth on both days, is funded through sponsorship by Nutrien and Nutrien Ag Solutions, the world's largest provider of crop inputs and services, and focuses its business strategy in helping growers increase food production in a sustainable manner. Partnerships with non-profits such as the River Museum align with Nutrien’s educational philosophy that today’s youth are tomorrow’s decision-makers and agricultural advocates, playing a crucial role for the health of the industry and the planet.

“Being able to provide Title 1 schools the opportunity to explore our campus and learn about sustainable agriculture through Nutrien’s support in amazing,” said Jennifer Drayna, Director of Education at the River Museum. “Each year, we look for new ways to engage students and give educators resources to supplement their curriculums, and this partnership is one we hope to continue to foster in the future.”

Party for the Planet is an annual event where more than 120 Association of Zoos and Aquarium (AZA) accredited facilities, including the River Museum, participate celebrating Earth Day, conservation programming, and the planet’s diverse wildlife.
